I loved coming into church every Sunday and hearing the prelude music being played by Joan. She was such a talented and gifted pianist and had a way of bringing in the spirit of God through music.

Along with knowing Joan from church and as a great pianist - we had a mutual friend - Sharon Grote. Sharon and I went to lunch with Joan a few times and once took lunch to her home. She was always grateful and happy and found plenty of things to laugh about. :)

Her positive outlook & enjoyable laugh will be missed. I have been blessed to have great memories of Joan . Her trips to Oregon were so memorable & her beautiful books she left for my then young daughter...NOW: She really did grow up to be a kindergarten teacher! Many years of children have been blessed by having Joan as their Kindergarten teacher. Leeza Lanson

One of our favorite memories of Joan was visiting with her and going to Yolanda's Restaurant, her favorite, for lunch. She always ordered the small Tostada, which she got us hooked on. She was always very appreciative to get out of her house and visit with friends. We will all miss her but especially miss the opportunity we had of hearing her play the organ every Sunday in our church services. We are blessed to know that we will see her again!
