Obituary of Douglas Alan Marsh

Douglas Alan Marsh (Doug) Age 82 of Simi Valley, CA. passed away January 31, 2025 at his home in Simi Valley.

Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Simi Valley.  Burial Service will be held at Assumption Cemetery 1380 Fitzgerald Rd., Simi Valley, CA. 

Rose Family Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.

Doug was born in Springfield Ohio to George K. and Maxine R. Marsh on June 1, 1942.  He attended Catholic Central High School in Springfield and graduated in 1960.  He then enlisted in the US Army where he completed a two-year tour of duty in Grafenwoeher, Germany which he completed in 1962 as a Specialist 6th class.  

He went on to earn a degree of Bachelor of Science of Electrical Engineering at Ohio State University in Columbus Ohio and a Master’s of Science of Electrical Engineering at Northeastern University in Boston Mass.

While at Ohio State University he married his wife Lynn (Franzen) Marsh in 1963 and in 1969 moved to Marlborough Mass., where he was employed as an electrical design radar engineer with Raytheon Missile Defense Systems through 1974.

In 1975 he moved his family to Simi Valley, Ca. where he was employed by ITT Gilfillan in Van Nuys, CA. and had a long career at Boeing Company in Anaheim Ca. and after was employed five years at VPI in Camarillo, CA. as Director of Engineering.

Doug enjoyed many interests, wood working, technical pursuits, travel to many European Countries and his beloved Germany with his wife Lynn.

He is survived by his wife Lynn of Simi Valley, his children, daughter Mindy Anderson, his sons Andy Marsh (Lea), Mike Marsh (Kim), Dan Marsh (Torrie), his brother George E. Marsh, his sister Maureen Osseck and sister-in-law Toni Marsh and brother in law Art Osseck of Springfield Ohio.  His precious grandchildren Amanda (Luke), Travis (Brooke), Heather and husband Rich, Nick, Mason, Jake, Lexi, Bradley, Danielle and his great grandchildren Jameson, Taylor, Wylder and Kieran. His many cousins, nieces nephew, Franzen Family Brother and Sisters-in-Law of Indiana and Florida.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents George K. and Maxine R. Marsh and his beloved Grandparents Edward and Alma Schutte.
