Obituary of Bea Acosta

Beatrice “Bea” Acosta passed away on October 25, 2019 in Mission Hills, CA surrounded by her family following a long battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).  She had just turned 59.

Bea was born on September 26, 1960 in Queens, New York to her parents, John and Ann Gunshinan.  She was the eldest of 4 children, and was proud of her Irish heritage. She married and moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1980 at age 19 where they had two daughters, Deirdre and Danielle. In 1987 she met Harry Acosta, the man she would spend the rest of her life with, and they were married in 1998. 

 Bea spent her career working in escrow. When she was not working, you would find her spending time with family and friends (whom she always considered family), watching the horse races, sitting by the pool, enjoying the river, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Bea is survived by her husband Harry Acosta; daughters: Deirdre (Jason) Grable, Danielle (Zach) Beard; grandchildren: Rylie Beard, Savannah Grable, Caden Beard, Carter Beard and Chase Grable; her mother Ann Gunshinan; sister Teresa Gunshinan; and brother Bernie (Debbie) Gunshinan. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Odyssey Restaurant in Mission Hills on Saturday, November 23, 2019, 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in Bea’s name to the COPD Foundation at www.copdfoundation.org
