Rosario “Ross” Bonfiglio of Simi Valley, CA., formally of Jamestown, NY passed away March 4, 2023 in Omaha, Ne at the age of 99. He was born Oct 2nd, 1923 in Jamestown, NY the son of the late Rosario Bonfiglio and Salvatrice Lombardo of Jamestown, Ny. He faithfully served his country in WWII in the US Navy from 1942-1945. He was a Navy Corpsman and was part of the American Campaign, Asiatic Pacific, and the Philippine Liberation. Later he was employed in the field of Aerospace Logistics for Litton Industries and worked there many years before retiring. Ross was a devoted Los Angeles Dodgers fan and loved his McDonald’s breakfast burrito and oatmeal, which he ate daily. He had a pet tortoise named Touché which he fed watermelon and apples daily and he is still alive after over 50 plus years of owning him. He will always be remembered as a humble and kind man and people he didn’t even know fell in love with him. Ross always wore a hat and dressed like a distinguished gentleman wherever he went. He will be remembered as a dedicated father, Papa and Nonno and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 60 years Joyce, his son in law Steve, and his sisters Helen, Josephine and Pauline. And his brothers James, Joe and Sebastian. He is survived by his son Ross Bonfiglio (daughter in law Danelle) of Simi Valley, CA Two daughters Ann Perham of Oceanside, CA and Joan Bonfiglio Harding (son in law Don)of Glenwood, IA. Three Grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Jameson Perham of Fallbrook, CA, Lauren Waldron (husband Zach) of Litchfield Park, AZ and Nathan Harding (wife Desiree) of Omaha, NE.

A celebration of his life will be at Rose Family Funeral Home 4444 Cochran Street, Simi Valley, California, 93063 on April 1st at 10:30 am. Lunch reception to follow. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to his favorite charity St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital
