I speak from my own personal knowledge of a woman I was proud to call my friend since 1966. Levina treated me as someone much younger than her though I was just a year younger. I think that stemmed from her being around older ones prior to coming to California, motherly instinct. We did the things Mother's dread and young ones dreamed of doing. We laughed, we cried, and we laughed again. Levina had a thirst for knowledge. She loved to share new things learned. She was a walking, talking encyclopedia. Levina realized she needed to “Become reconciled to God” who reconciled us to himself through Christ. (2 Corinth. 5:17-21; Rom. 5:8-11) Levina spent the last part of her life taking in life giving knowledge by coming to 'know' the only true God, Jehovah, and the one whom he sent, Jesus Christ (John 17:3). Levina followed the scriptural command to share that knowledge with all who would listen (Matt. 28:19, 20). Levina knew that soon, "He [Jesus] brings vengeance on those who do not 'know' God [Jehovah] and those who do not obey the good news about our Lord Jesus (2 Thess. 1:8, 9). Jesus said, "Righteous Father, the world has, indeed, not come to "know" you, but I know you, and these have come to know that you sent me. I have made your name known to them and will make it known, . . . ” (John 17:25, 26). Levina was trying to model her life after Jesus Christ, bearing witness about Jehovah God, giving thanks to Jehovah, calling on Jehovah's name, making his deeds known among the peoples, pondering over Jehovah's wonderful works. Boasting about Jehovah's holy name (Psalms 83:18; 105:1-5). Levina followed the Biblical admonition, "Let us always offer to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of our lips that make public declaration to his name. Moreover, do not forget to do good and to share what you have with others, for God is well-pleased with such sacrifices (Hebrews 13:15, 16). No doubt, you were a recipient of her public declaration, preaching. I do not mourn as others do because I know the rich blessing Jehovah God has in store for her in the future. I am grateful to have had a friend like Levina. Our escapades too numerous to mention and too unacceptable by others, who tend to judge. I had a good time with her. I have no guilt, no shame and I can't complain over a life well lived. Both of us, in the end, made it back into Jehovah God's hands where we belonged. We just took the long way back, the scenic route.
