Alma was born in Little Rock Arkansas to Ruby Gails and Garland Eugene Wheeler on December 19, 1950. Alma moved to Los Angeles, California in 1955 with her mom Ruby when she 5 years old. Alma attended and graduated from Banning High School in 1969 and was accepted to UCLA on a Math scholarship. She married her deceased husband Leroy Bailey Jr. in 1970 and from that union their only child Shantel Turner was born. Alma began a career in the Insurance industry after graduating from California State Dominguez Hills with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics in 1975. She worked as an insurance underwriter for 33 years before she retired in 2008. After she retired Alma spent her time traveling the world. Alma visited such places as Africa where she went on several safaris and toured the pyramids. Alma took trips to Central and South America where she climbed the Mayan and Inca Ruins. Alma visited all over Europe and Asia where she was able to see the Passion Play. Alma took a trip Down Under and visited the Australian continent and the surrounding islands of Fiji and New Zealand. Alma’s last overseas trip was to Southeast Asia this past February where she visited Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. In addition to traveling, Alma was very active in her church overseeing several groups and had many callings. She served with a joyful heart and could never say no to lend a hand. Alma enjoyed doting on her grandchildren and spent several weeks out of the summer traveling locally with them. Alma loved attending plays and luncheons with her friends and being part of the Red Hat Ladies. Alma lived a full life!

Alma is survived by her daughter Shantel Turner, son-in-law David Turner, granddaughter Raven, and grandson Devon of Lake Balboa California. As well as her Sister Val Fox-Johnson and her husband Jeffrey Johnson of Las Vegas, Nevada, brother Saint Anthony Fox and his wife Debbie Fox of Corona, California, brother Rookie Fox of Las Vegas, Nevada and brother Curtis Lee Fox of Las Vegas, Nevada and a host of nieces and nephews.
