Shortly after Tony helped forming the NRO/Mission Assurance Team over twenty years ago, I joined the team and started traveling with the team. The most fun part of this job was the off-site meetings, when we got to know each other very well. Tony was great and I enjoyed the fun times we had. I went to several of his Italian Birthday Parties at the house also. He showed all his wood works, and his big Army Truck which he drove in the Memorial Day parades. He was proud to be in the Korean War and talk about a few of his war time flights.
I have to mention at one of the off-sites. As we toured the Albuquerque Nuclear Museum, he saw the picture of Albert Einstein. We all agreed that the two were so much alike like twins. That became my fond memory of the MAT Einstein. That memory will never go away. He rode with me when we worked at some rocket motor plants in Utah, he shared his family history especially on the journey coming to California and joined Aerospace. So many exciting stories and experiences from Tony that I can’t include here. He was fond of his Italian Heritage and would never allow me to argue who invented the pasta first. I will miss him.
Salute. My dear friend.

Antonio was a gentleman and a hero. Here is just one of my favorite memories. Antonio and I were going to attend a classic car event. It was a Sunday. Antonio was driving my little red 57 Porsche Speedster. As we were going up a steep hill on a freeway, the car lost power. There wasn’t an emergency lane because there was a four foot tall concrete blockade due to construction. We were on a blind curve. Antonio in one swift move took out his cell phone, called emergency, opened my car door and picked me up and placed me over the four foot wall, grabbed my red coat in the back seat and ran down hill to where he could flag cars and trucks away from where the car was stalled. Antonio looked like an expert bullfighter swinging his cape. I was so afraid for Antonio’s safety. Antonio was determined not to have an accident occur. The highway patrol arrived. They called for backup and had five patrol cars and flares protecting all. They called for a flatbed truck to safely take the car and us to a shop and back to Antonio’s home. Once all of that was accomplished, we went to Malibu to Giovanni’s Italian Restaurant. Enjoyed a meal, and walked on the pier. The entire time I saw Antonio in a Knight in shining armor with a bullfighters red cape. How fitting that he was a Black Knight in the Korean War. They were called that because of being the team who were involved at night. I was completely blown away by Antonio’s quick thinking and saving lives. Oh yes, Antonio was a very rare and brave man. A great friend. Thank you for so very much. You are dearly missed and appreciated by so very many, including me. With so much love and respect. Alexandra Sheldon

One of the best Aerospace Corporation activities for me was being on the Mission Assurance Team (MAT). It was made up of about 12 engineers; most from El Segundo, headquarters of The Aerospace Corporation. We traveled to cities around the United States to review how the rocket and its components were built and tested; from detailed records and observing.
The rocket launch part of the price tag to get a reconnaissance satellite into orbit could be about $200,000,000. And with the reconnaissance satellite valued at over $1,000,000,000 and being one of a kind, built over many years, the satellite organization usually leaves nothing to chance by closely checking how the rocket and launch pad were built and tested. We did that for them.
One fellow on the team was a proud Italian, Tony Fucci, and he wanted to get the Team to a "real" Italian restaurant at one of our rocket company stops in Arizona. The method Tony used to find a true Italian restaurant was to call the Italian restaurants in town until he finds ones where the Chef and owner could talk to him in Italian and give him the "right" answers. Tony ordered for us at the restaurant he deemed right. Many courses of some of the best smelling, presented, and tasting food I have ever had.
I never heard a MAT member say to a company we visited "Hi, we are from the government, and we are here to help you." :>)
Tony helped make the MAT a productive and fun activity. He also traveled to Vandenberg Air Force Base to help us launch the rockets he had helped certify. Chuck Sorensen

My husband Paul was such a good friend if Tony and loved when they got together when we were in CA.
I loved the few times Tony and I spoke on the phone. He had a great personality.
My husband, who also was in Korea, died in 2017. I know they are together again...

Barbara,
Dad in his later years started sharing about some of his times in Korea. He lived his passion. He has such a rapport with those he served with.
Thank you for sharing.

So many sweet memories of dear Antonio… but how he loved to dance is among my favorites! Here he is celebrating New Years Eve at Westlake Village Inn’s Brazilian Carnivale with Louie Cruz Beltran’s Orchestra… dancing the night away with his lovely partner…. I was lucky enough to have a dance or two with Antonio over the years. He was the kindest, most thoughtful gentle-man. And what a career. What a brilliant mind. Truly a rocket scientist! I knew him through the time he shared with my beautiful sister and beyond. I was blessed to have his spirit touch my life. May you all - this enormous family of his - remember him with great pride as he was one very special man.

Oh! To see these photos that people have uploaded so far is so very lovely; to see Antonio’s smile and laughing eyes. I enjoyed dancing with Anthony during the years before the virus. Always such a joyful playful dancer.
I also had the privilege of being Anthony’s hairdresser for these past many years.
He was just in my chair on Monday, November 20th 2023. We had our usual visit and haircut and I never could imagine that would be the last time I’d ever see him…. :( I’m so saddened by this..
These photos are beautiful … thank you.
It’s impossible to believe this is so.
I love the photos I see here on this site! Darling man who surely loved the ladies!
I send love to his family. I know this is so hard. Will see you all at the memorial.
Lovingly,
Joshua

Tony and I shared many experiences over the years: spear fishing, building his first house in Hamden, CT., and several woodworking projects. We spent time together in Italy and meeting friends and relatives there.
We celebrated in honor of our mother at many Italian parties Tony hosted at his home in CA.
Tony lived a good life and he will be missed. Condolences to his entire family. and much love, John and Peg

He was a joy to be around and I'm so blessed to have known him. I will miss him so much and I offer my sincere condolences to his family. Rest in peace dear friend!❤️
