Obituary of Tessie C. Manalo

Ms. Tessie C. Manalo, beloved sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully at home in Simi Valley, CA on August 12,2024 at the age of 78. 

Tessie is survived by her twin sister Leticia Manalo, sisters Clarita Bendijo and Lilia Ramos, brother Emilio Manalo Jr., nieces, and nephews.  

Tessie was born on February 18,1946 in Pampanga, Philippines to parents Emilio Manalo Sr. and Esperanza Carlos. She graduated from Centro Escolar University in Manila with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. In 1969, Tessie came to the United States as an exchange student and completed her internship at Salem Hospital in Salem, MA, the same year. After passing the ASCP board exam in 1970, she began working at Salem Hospital and then at Carney Hospital in Dorchester, MA, where she was employed for ten years. She moved to Los Angeles, California in1982. Tessie, a dedicated professional, worked for several healthcare providers in the field of clinical laboratory. She fully retired in 2019 after being in the workforce for 49 years. 

Tessie was the most generous, selfless, and kindhearted sister, aunt, and friend anyone had ever met. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. She will always live forever in everyone’s heart.  

A viewing will take place on Monday, August 26,2024 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Rose Family Funeral Homes, 4444 Cochran Street, Simi Valley, CA 93063. The funeral service to honor her life will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 27 at St. Peter Claver Church, 2380 Stow Street, Simi Valley, CA 93063. Unattended cremation is scheduled on Wednesday, August 28 and her ashes will be brought to her final resting place in the Philippines. A lunch reception in Simi Valley will immediately follow the church service. 

“Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.”
